For the development and welfare of Asgata, the
Community Council has implemented a programme with development
and improvement works, which will contribute to the proper
development of the Community.
Some of the works which
have already been completed and delivered to the Community
are:
1. Construction of the communal building to accommodate the
offices of the Community Council on the first floor, as well
as the creation of a place on the
basement for a cafeteria which will cover the needs of the
inhabitants and visitors of the community.
2. Widening of the public road.
3. Opening up and asphalting of the roads within the built-up
area.
4. Naming and numbering of all the streets of the village
as well as delivery of the inhabitants' mail by a postman.
5. Replacement of the whole old water supply in the entire
village. The cost amounted to £126,000.
6. Expansion of the water supply network.
7. Conveyance of water from the Sanida area to the village
for water supply aims. The cost amounted to £106,000.
8. Smartening up of squares and streets.
9. Building of the communal stadium, which in addition to
the sports-ground includes the tires and the locker rooms
with all the facilities.
10. Opening up of a pedestrian street towards the old primary
school.
11. Purchase of a privately-owned car park.
12. Building of a bridge that connects the ''Fields'' area
with the village.
13. Widening and giving a face-lift to the bridge of the village
and smartening up the ''Mersina'' river by building a fountain
and placing benches
and flower-stands.
The Asgata Community Council plans the
building of a new water cistern, the smartening up of the
old quarter of the village and the creation of a Missing Persons
park.
